The Council Secretary (CS) serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Council, responsible for steering the organization towards its objectives. The primary purpose of the Office of the Council Secretary is to engage in strategic management, offer guidance, provide astute leadership, and efficiently coordinate all activities undertaken by the Council.
Furthermore, the office plays a crucial role in translating government policies into actionable and tangible programs and projects, ensuring alignment with the National Decentralization Policy.
The Council Secretary is entrusted with the vital task of ensuring the seamless integration of government directives into practical initiatives, while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Council for the benefit of the community.
Under the guidance of the CS, Chikankata Town Council strives to be a center of excellence and a model of reference in local government administration and good governance.
The Legal Services Section is a critical support function within Kazungula Town Council, operating under the newly approved council structures to provide professional legal guidance and ensure the council’s decisions, policies, and operations comply with the Laws of Zambia. This section safeguards the legal interests of the council, mitigates legal risks, and upholds statutory and regulatory compliance in the execution of council mandates.
