Chikankata District has received a new ambulance, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, procured using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), a move expected to enhance health service delivery in the district.
President Hakainde Hichilema, through Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has officially handed over the 119 CDF procured ambulances to constituencies in the country.
The ambulances, described as a critical boost to emergency response and patient referral systems, is expected to ease the burden on health facilities and bring services closer to the people.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the district at the Showgrounds in Lusaka, Chikankata Council Chairperson, His Worship Mr. Conard Ngoma has expressed gratitude to the new dawn government for prioritizing rural health care through the CDF initiative.
The Council Chairperson was in the company of the Council Secretary, Mr. Christopher Siasinyanga, the CDFC Chairperson, Mr. Mukuwa Mulyate and officers from the Department of Health.
The handover of the ambulances underscores governmentβs continued commitment to ensuring that CDF allocations are used to address pressing needs in communities, with health and education among the key priority sectors.
