Welcome to Chikankata District

Chikankata Town Council is located in Chikankata District of Southern Province, Zambia, approximately 68km from Lusaka the Capital City of Zambia. The district covers an area of 2500km² and shares borders with Kafue district in the North, Chirundu in the East, Siavonga in the South-East, Gwembe and Monze in some parts of the South and, Mazabuka in the West.

The district is serviced by two major trunk roads namely; Lusaka-Chirundu and Lusaka-Livingstone roads. The district has one Constituency, Chikankata, and composed of 14 Wards. The district has two (2) chiefdoms, namely; Naluama under Chief Naluama and Mwenda under Chieftainess Mwenda. Readmore

CASH FOR WORK PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN CHIKANKATA DISTRICT

The Cash for Work (CFW) program is a temporal six month government initiative providing employment for cash wages to support drought-affected communities through local labor for community projects.

The overall aim of this program is to provide temporal income generating opportunities to vulnerable individuals in exchange for cash wages to stimulate economic activities at the local community level and contribute to community infrastructure maintenance. Readmore
